Do emulsions help with clarity and separation in water-based sprays?

Yes. One of the primary benefits of using a fragrance emulsion — or an appropriate solubilizer — in a water-based spray is preventing the oil "floaters" and ring separation that occur when fragrance oil is added directly to water without an emulsifying system. A properly formulated emulsion keeps the fragrance uniformly distributed, resulting in a consistent, stable product that doesn't require shaking before each use.
